I registered my domain name with Network Solutions or some other registrar. Can I still get your Services?
You have a number of options in this situation. You can transfer the DNS portion of your services to MICROLINQ or you can transfer the entire registration to MICROLINQ. Any domain name, including names with Country Code extensions, can be transferred in to MICROLINQ Services. Please see our Domain Transfer section for more information.Top

Your order page wants a credit card number, and I don't have a credit card. Now what?
Many of our customers register domain names or transfer in without a credit card. It takes a little longer, but we will be more than happy to accept payment by mail. You may send a cashier's check, an International money order, or a US postal money order. Please remember that all payments must be in US funds, and must be for the amount stated on the website at the time of order. We will register your name and/or begin your services as soon as we receive payment. Please contact a representative so that we can direct you in how to proceed. What if I don't want to order online?
We respect your privacy, and our site is secure, but if you prefer to order over the phone, we will be happy to help you. Please call 972.867.4576. If you prefer to pay by cashier's check, an International money order, or a US postal money order, you may mail your order to us. Top

Do you offer dial-up Internet access?
Yes. MICROLINQ offers unlimited dialup internet access plans. Click here for details. Top

Are your severs connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? If not, when and why are they disconnected?

Do You Host Adult Web Sites?
Absolutely not.
We have a very strict policy against hosting any type of adult related or pornographic web site. If we find or become aware of any adult related or pornographic material on your web site, we will have no choice but to terminate your web site. Top

What is Virtual Web Hosting?
Virtual web hosting means that your web site is placed on a web server that contains other customers' web sites. Each web site has its own unique and secure web space as well as its own unique Internet address and email accounts. Top

The unique address is called a domain name (e.g.. WWW.YOURNAME.COM), and we can help you obtain a domain name for your site. Each web site on the same server is completely separate from the other web sites and acts just like it was the only web site on the server. Your customers will find your web site by typing in your unique domain name (e.g.. WWW.YOURNAME.COM). Top

Do your servers support SQL database?
Yes! Our servers support MySQL which is a full strength SQL server built for our Unix web servers. Top

Do your servers support ASP scripting?
Yes! Our servers support ASP which is a powerful scripting language for the Windows platform.

NOTE: this feature requires that we setup your web site on a specific type of web server that provides this capability. Therefore, be sure to select this option when you place your initial order. If not, then we will need to move your web site to a different type of web server. Top

What methods of payment does MICROLINQ accept?
A valid MasterCard, Visa, check, or money order is currently the only means of payment accepted.

Do your servers support e-commerce?
Yes! Our servers support the MIVA E-Commerce System which is a powerful Unix server based storefront solution.

NOTE: these e-commerce packages requires that we setup your web site on a specific type of web server that provides this capability. Therefore, be sure to select this option when you place your initial order. Top

Do you offer SSL credit card encryption?
Yes. We offer shared SSL encryption for certain web hosting packages. Please contact our sales department for details.

If you wish to have your own SSL certificate (in your name), or use SSL for your own ASP, SQL, or PHP activities, then you will need to purchase it directly from Verisign. We will assist you in getting it installed onto your web site.Top

Do you offer web page design services?
Unlike most other hosting companies, we do offer in-house professional web site design. We hire only the most talented graphic artists who have years of real world web design. MICROLINQ offers a full line of services for your business including hosting, design, and promotion. Top

How do I upgrade or downgrade from one plan to another?
You can change plan types at anytime by contacting our Customer Service Department. Top

How do I transfer files to my web site?
Files must be transferred to the web server via FTP (File Transport Protocol). To accomplish this, you will need to use one of the many FTP programs available today (like CuteFTP or WS_FTP). The FTP program is used along with your dial-up Internet connection to upload web pages and images from your hard drive to your web space on our servers. FTP is very simple to learn and use and we have provided an FTP tutorial for first time users. Top

Why can't I see my files after I upload them to my web site?
This is the question we get asked the most. The reason you don't see your pages is because you uploaded them to the wrong location on your web site, or you did not name your home page "index.html". Top

Why do I see broken image links on my pages?
This means the web server cannot find the image files your web pages are referring to. This happens when you forget to upload your image files, upload them to the wrong location on your web site, or have incorrect UPPER/lower case letters in the image file names. Top

Why can I retrieve email OK but I cannot send email through my web site?
In order to combat and help eliminate bulk email (called "spam"), most dial-up access providers (ISP's) block port 25 which is used to send email.

What this means is that your ISP will NOT allow you to send email from your computer using your web site's email server. They will let you retrieve email from your web site email accounts, just not send email. They will require that you use their email server which is attached to and a part of your dial-up access account with them. That is why you can retrieve email okay but when you try to send email you see an error message that says "cannot locate mail server".

As a result of the port 25 block, you will be required to enter your ISP's email server as the outgoing or SMTP server in your email program's settings (to send mail). However, you will still be able to setup your web site's mail server as the incoming or POP3 email server (to receive mail). Top

Do you accept international orders?
Yes. We are pleased to have customers around the world, and we're always as close as your computer. If desired, we can host non-US domain name extensions. Top

What contract and payment terms are available?
We do not require any long term contracts.  If you would like to cancel hosting service we do ask that you provide us with a 30 day notice.  We bill in 3 month, quarterly, or annual increments. Top

What is your refund policy?
If within 30 days after purchasing a web site from us, you are not happy with our web site prices or services, just let us know in writing within that 30 days. Written requests must be signed by an officer of the Company or the owner of the domain name, be on Company letterhead, and must be faxed or mailed to us (email and phone requests are not valid).
